In the first draft for Half-Blood Prince when Harry’s at the station and Dumbledore comes to meet him, in an early draft of that script Dumbledore said to Harry “I remember a young woman with eyes of flushing whatever… ravened hair” I read this and I scribbled on my copy of the script “Steve, Dumbledore is gay!” Shoved it up the table and Steve goes “ohhh”.

Eyes of flushing whatever? Ravened hair? Het Love Interest Sue, much?

I love how, here, JKR makes a parallel between Dumbledore’s infatuation and another infatuation — Bellatrix’s — that was also only implied — not overtly stated — in canon. In fact, Bellatrix’s infatuation is less evidenced, I think, because we don’t have the contrast we have with Dumbledore, where we see how moral he can be, and how immoral he was under Grindelwald’s influence.

I love how, here, JKR makes a parallel between Dumbledore’s infatuation and another infatuation — Bellatrix’s — that was also only implied — not overtly stated — in canon.
